Yay! Its finally up!
This beautiful Batik painting was just being finished when we snapped it up from a elderly man that was painting it in Langkawi, Malaysia. It was so big, we had idea where we were going to hang it up, but the first hurdle was getting it home!
We decided to send it off from Australia, but regular postal service regulations did not allow such a long tube to be sent internationally. Geoff and I even tried going to a couple of different post offices to see if we could catch a worker on a good day...no luck.
Somehow, somewhere, my Dad worked his magic and got it on its way (Thanks again, Papa!)...6 months later and it has found its new home on our walls!
Geoff put a frame around it and we spent many hours trying to figure out the best way to hang it, each time the wind knocking it off the hooks or something happening to prevent it from hanging just right.
Well, its up now and it was worth all its effort. What a beauty, dont you agree?
